The 4th Installment of POET Brings Together Talented Artists for a Night of Good Vibes, Great Music and Live Spoken Word Poetry.

LOS ANGELES, CA, January 11, 2023 /24-7PressRelease/ — Actor and Cultural Architect for Public Engagement (C.A.P.E.) Charles Reese (Amazon’s Beauty and the Baller) will appear on Saturday, January 21, 2023 as a featured artist during POET VOLUME 4 – A beautiful and enriching audio/visual evening of poetry.

Known for his work in TV and Film, Reese will pay homage to his Morehouse brother the late playwright, and Emmy Award nominee, Howard Simon (1962-2000) as he reimagines Simons’ Purple Book Poerty Project (1962-2000).

“As I celebrate my 60th year around the sun, it gives me great pleasure to bear witness to this work that has been sitting in my archives for the last 23 years. The words still hold true today and thanks to Paul Mabon for the invitation”, says Reese.

Set to take place at MiMoDa Studio located at 5774 W. Pico Blvd. Los Angeles, CA 90019 (enter at Paper and Plastik) this eclectic production is brought to you by Diverse Verses LA and hosted by Paul Mabon, Kooki and Quan the Poet.

The evening kicks off at 5:30 PM with a cocktail hour curated by Vegan Chef Nekia where Beer, wine, fresh coffee, exotic loose leaf teas and lite pastries will be available for purchase.

Then promptly at 6:30 PM, Besskepp, Philosophy, Dig Wayne, Aiyana Sha’niel, Fredia Gibbs and the one and only Charles Reese will perform live. Also scheduled to appear are special guest poets The Luja Family! Love, Queen Socks and MrFood4Thought.

During the evening, guests will be treated to new poetry segment hosted by Quan the Poet called ‘Quan’s Corner’. A roundtable featuring LGBTQAI+ poets and poems from Judy Holiday, Tiffany Hubbard, Yasmine Monet Watkins, Arthur Kennedy and Damnyo Lee.

The soundtrack for the evening will be provided by Dj S.O.U.L.-O.
