Annual $1,000 Award Supports Students Pursuing Careers in Law, Social Services and Intellectual Property Protection
MAPLEWOOD, NJ, April 18, 2025 /24-7PressRelease/ — The Newark, NJ intellectual property lawyers at COFFYLAW, LLC have announced the establishment of their COFFYLAW Social Responsibility Scholarship program, offering $1,000 to students pursuing careers in law, social support services, and intellectual property protection.
The scholarship, now accepting applications through April 30, 2025, aims to support students who demonstrate both academic excellence and a commitment to community service. Winners will be announced in July.
COFFYLAW established the scholarship as an extension of their decade-long Social Responsibility Initiative, which includes pro-bono legal work and community engagement throughout the tristate area. The boutique intellectual property and business litigation firm, founded by Emmanuel Coffy, a patent-holding inventor, has structured the scholarship to reflect its own values of innovation and social responsibility.
Applicants must submit a 1,000-word essay addressing how they have contributed to improving their communities, their motivation for helping others, and describing a situation where they went above and beyond to support someone in need. Additional application requirements include a current resume and unofficial academic transcript.
The scholarship committee will evaluate candidates based on academic achievement, volunteer work, participation in extracurricular activities, and innovative thinking. The award may be applied toward tuition and fees for Associate, Bachelor’s, or Post-Graduate degree programs.
Students interested in applying for the COFFYLAW Social Responsibility Scholarship should email all required materials to info@coffylaw.com by the April 30 deadline.
